Miami Hurricanes star Avantae Williams arrested and suspended for 'attacking pregnant woman'

MIAMI Hurricanes star Avantae Williams has been arrested and suspended for allegedly attacking a pregnant woman.

The safety was booked just after 10pm on Wednesday night on a $10,000 bond.


He was arrested for three counts of aggravated battery on a pregnant woman.

The Miami Hurricanes football program issued a statement confirming that the star has been suspended from the team's activities.

"We are aware that football student-athlete Avantae Williams has been arrested by the Miami-Dade Police Department," the statement read. "He was immediately suspended from all team activities."

Williams was projected to be part of the Hurricane's rotation after a successful spring on the pitch.

He was set to make his return after being held out of action in 2020 due to an undisclosed medical condition.
