Melania Trump mocked as ‘removal truck’ seen outside White House amid election
A removal truck-style vehicle spotted outside the White House has sparked a wave of jokes that Melania Trump is moving out after the US election comes to a close.
Despite votes in tightly-contested swing states yet to come in, Democrat candidate Joe Biden has stretched his lead on Donald Trump and now needs just 17 electoral college votes to become the 46th President of the United States.
And as Biden secured important wins from Wisconsin and Michigan last night (November 4), eagle-eyed viewers noticed a large truck arriving at the White House.
The vehicle, many joked, looked like a removal truck leading to a whole host of comments that the most powerful couple in the world are already preparing to move out.
Twitter user @happywithmeok shared a clip of the moment last night (November 4), writing: "I’m taking this live shot of the White House, with a moving truck outside, as a good omen."
His clip has been seen more than 4 million times and attracted a torrent of comments.
“She totally voted for Biden,” one viewer joked. “She didn't want four more years of this.”
Another said: “She said bags packed and I’m ready to go!”
At the time of writing, Joe Biden has received 253 electoral votes compared to Trump’s 214.
Reports have claimed the US president “threw a temper tantrum” as the results started to swing in his rival’s favour.
Trump has also repeatedly made unsubstantiated claims that he is the victim of mass electoral fraud and has even threatened to challenge the result in the courts.
Biden’s team have responded by saying they have a team of lawyers ready to battle him all the way.
As the US awaits the outcome of one of the most hotly-contested elections in years, protests have erupted across the country.
In Arizona, a counting station was forced to close as Trump supporters stormed the site calling for the counts to be stopped.
