Meghan Markle's best pal has been left "exhausted" by 2020 and is stepping down for a break.

British-Bahraini designer Misha Nonoo – who is rumoured to have introduced the Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry – has also ordered her staff to take over a week off in order to recharge ahead of a hopefully busy 2021.

Misha, who runs the Misha Nonoo fashion house, has a firm friendship with 38-year-old Meghan and is something of a queen of fashion after building up a $15 million (£11 million) empire through her brand.

But the hectic past 12 months has taken it’s toll on Misha, who took to Instagram on Christmas Day to announce she was winding down business for the remainder of the year.

Sharing a snap of herself wearing a festive red dress, the mum-of-one – who is married to 33-year-old oil heir Mikey Hess – wrote: “Whether you are with loved ones or toughing the season out in quarantine, we wish you a Happy Holiday full of hope, encouragement and faith in a brand new year to come!”

Revealing how drained she had been left by 2020, the designer continued: “Each one of us has deeply appreciated your support this year.

“It has been a difficult one and we admit, we are exhausted.

“We love you, and in order to serve you with renewed energy and creativity in 2021, we are going to take a little break next week.”

Spreading some festive cheer to her staff, she continued: “Our corporate staff, including customer service, will be off with full pay from December 24th through January 3rd.

“All customer service inquiries will be responded to on January 4th when our offices reopen. Our wonderful little store in Meatpacking will be operating during the reduced hours below, giving the retail staff the same number of days off with full pay as our corporate team.”

She added: “We learned so much this year, and one of those things was the importance of caring for each other and taking time to rest and rejuvenate. We hope you are able to take some time too. See you in 2021!”

Misha is believed to have introduced Meghan to Prince Harry – who she married in 2018.

Controversial unauthorised biography Finding Freedom – released by journalists Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand earlier this year – alleged Misha and Meghan’s friendship was thanks to Soho House membership director Markus Anderson at a party in Miami.

The book claims: “At a Soho House lunch in Miami, he was the one who sat the actress next to Misha, a budding fashion designer with a vivacious personality and impeccable pedigree.

“The occasion for the December 2014 Miami trip was Art Basel, a decadent art fair that brings the internationally rich and famous for a week of parties and events of all sorts and sizes.

“Markus invited Meghan, an art lover, to stay at the epicenter of the action, Soho Beach House, to set some sun, see some art, and have some fun.

“A perfect place to make new friends and connections, the Soho house event saw Misha and Meghan hit it off immediately.”
