Meghan Markle’s brother-in-law charged for alleged attack on her sister Samantha
Meghan Markle's brother-in-law has been charged for allegedly attacking her wheelchair-bound sister Samantha Markle, it has been reported.
Mark Phillips, 62, is charged with domestic violence and is accused of punching Samantha in the face.
The Duchess' sister, who is in a wheelchair, is claimed to have been attacked in the early hours of the morning.
Phillips was arrested on December 14 after cops were called to their home in Lakeland, Florida.
Storage unit worker Phillips allegedly attacked his wife during a row in the early hours of the morning, court documents claim, reports The Mirror.
It is alleged he flew into a rage after being asked to help Samantha, 56, off the toilet, hitting her "on the right side of her face in the ear area", the Daily Mail reports.
He has since been charged with domestic violence, according to reports.
The Duchess' sister has been estranged from her famous relative for years, but has publicly criticised Meghan after she fell out with dad Thomas Markle Snr, 76.
Samantha has been a vocal critic of Meghan, most recently branding a Remembrance Day photoshoot by the Duchess and Prince Harry as "gaudy and offensive".
She told TalkRADIO: "I think what is most glaring about any Remembrance Day is not only is important to remember those who have sacrificed, but as a reminder that life is precious and short and we should certainly pay gratitude.

"Seize the day, seize the moment, apologise and make good with those who are alive who have given us so much because after all, we are finite.
"I only hope that she would wake up to that but that doesn't seem to be the case."
Earlier this year Samantha hit out at the former senior royal, claiming she used people as a "stepping stone" throughout her career and completely shut-off friends and family when she became famous.
