US President Donald Trump is set to arrive in the UK for a three-day state visit today.

Meghan Markle will not be meeting him, as she is still on maternity leave after the birth of Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor last month.

And it may be for the best, as a royal commentator has suggested the Duchess of Sussex once found him “super creepy”.

Daisy McAndrew told Yahoo’s the Royal Box about a particularly awkward encounter she was told happened between the two during Meghan’s time as a briefcase girl on the American version of Deal or No Deal.

“Apparently when she was working on Deal or No Deal as the briefcase girl, so we’re talking a long time ago now, Donald Trump came on to publicise The Apprentice,” she said.

“And one of her fellow briefcase girls said that he was super creepy and started inviting all the briefcase girls out and that Meghan thought he was a creep and decided not to go.

“Now, it could well be a totally made-up story and I’m not saying that I know it’s true.

“But it adds a bit of colour.”

Meghan has been vocal in her criticism of Trump in the past.

During his election campaign in 2016, she said she would move to Canada if he became president.

Trump was made aware of her comments during an interview with The Sun last week and responded: “I didn’t know that.

“What can I say? I didn’t know that she was nasty.”
