Meghan Markle left speechless after teen's cheeky comment during surprise visit

The Duchess of Sussex was attending a school in Dagenham, east London, to speak about equality in an event marking International Women's Day — taking the students by surprise

A cheeky teenager left Meghan Markle speechless after they stole a kiss and declared "she's beautiful" during a secret royal visit to his school.

The Duchess of Sussex stunned pupils when she arrived at Robert Clack Upper School in Dagenham, east London, where she urged teenage boys to "value, appreciate and protect" the women in their lives.

As part of the surprise event to celebrate International Women's Day – which is today – the Duchess went "off the cuff", inviting one "brave young man" to go up on stage and speak about why the day was important to him.

Aker Okoye, 16, made his way to the front of the room to wild applause, before greeting Prince Harry's wife with a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

The schoolboy pushed his luck as he leaned into the microphone, telling the audience: "She really is beautiful, innit."

Thankfully, Meghan seemed to take it in good spirits, bursting into laughter and wagging her finger at the teen in a mock telling off before crossing her arms.

"I had to speak the truth there," Aker added.

"International Women's Day is a reminder to everyone that women can do it all and do do it all.

"This is more of a message to all you guys. Maybe this Sunday could be the one day we don't look at women as objects.

"I just want International Women's Day for all of us to be a reminder of how strong our community is with women inside."

He then hugged Meghan again as he left the stage to wild screams and applause.

Meghan then told the crowd: "Well done. Very well said. And incredible confidence, won't you all agree?"

Speaking afterwards, The Mirror reports Aker said his comment to Meghan was an "ice-breaker", adding: "It's different when you meet people in person from on TV. It's a different feeling.

"Sorry about the ice-breaker, I don't want to objectify women. It was amazing."

The visit was Meghan's final solo engagement before she and Harry leave the Royal Family.

She appeared alongside a real-life "Dagenham Girl" Geraldine Dear, 66, who took part in the 1984 strike for equal pay at the Ford Motor Plant.

Meghan told Geraldine: "Well done on making such an important change for this country. I'm sure it's not an easy thing to do but it's the right thing to do."

Harry and Meghan returned to the UK for their final royal duties this week after their shock announcement in January that they were quitting the Royal Family.
