Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s most-loyal supporters are finding their apparent “disrespect” shown to the Queen extremely troubling, a Royal commenter has claimed.

Robert Hardman, who has penned several books on the royals, claimed Meghan, 38, and Harry, 35, showed “bad manners” in a statement released on Friday.

The bombshell statement clashed with Buckingham Palace’s view that the couple should not use the Royal Sussex brand.

In it, they claimed the Queen does not have “jurisdiction” over the term “royal” overseas in the post where they confirmed they would not trademark the name.

Mr Hardman told talkRADIO host Mike Graham: “I think the one thing in that statement over the weekend that even their supporters are finding really difficult is this disrespect to the Queen.

“This extraordinary statement within this very long statement where they say actually it is not up to the Queen or the British Government who uses the word royal internationally, they have no jurisdiction.

“That is wrong in law, there are various international rules governing trademarks, but it is effectively saying that the Queen doesn’t own this issue anyway.

“I think given that the Queen has gone out of her way to make this transition for them as smooth and as relatively easy as possible I think it is bad manners.”

The author added: “I would love to know who was advising them.”

It comes amid growing concerns over the Sussex’s spiraling security costs that could soar to “£20million”.

Senior officers are understood to be drafting emergency plans to double the team protecting the Sussexes, who have all been in separate locations recently.

But, ex-Met protection officer Dai Davies told the publication: “In their current state, the plans are unworkable.”
