Meghan Markle is planning on more appearances on the small screen, and is even considering setting up her own talk show after an appearance on Ellen, a royal commentator has claimed.
Meghan recently featured on the Ellen DeGeneres show in the US where she largely avoided questions about royal life, and instead focused on her early career as an actress, as well as taking part in stunts including drinking baby’s milk and squatting in public.
The move marked another element of the Duchess of Sussex’s transition away from royal life, having stepped down from The Firm with her husband Prince Harry in March 2020.
And, although the appearance was criticised by some commentators, royal expert Neil Sean has claimed on his YouTube channel that it might inspire Meghan to create her own chat show in the future.
“According to a very good source, it appears that Meghan Markle was inspired, after appearing on the Ellen DeGeneres show, so much so that she had offers for her own small screen appearances,” Neil suggested.
“When you look at the world of television now, they’re looking for anybody who can give them a rating.
“What’s interesting according to the source, is that Meghan has her own strict ideas about what she would consider to do for her return to the small screen.
“The plan basically centres on the fact that she wouldn’t want to do a return to an Ellen DeGeneres type show – and that is celebrity, entertainment, chat, that kind of thing.”
Neil claimed that Meghan was considering “an informal discussion with political, great leaders, entrepreneurs, business people, people like that."
He said: "She feels that she could connect with them and put their story over in a more succinct way.”
The royal commentator suggested that this idea would go down well with TV bosses, noting: “Someone somewhere, particularly in America, will give her a big deal to make a show like that.
“Now whether that’s part of a rolling news channel, as an hour’s segment once a week or a standalone series, trust me, someone will be interested.”

Meghan and her representatives have not commented on the speculation, but, if followed through, it would add to a growing list of ventures embarked on by the Sussexes.
Upon settling in the US, the couple have created their charitable Archewell foundation, through which they have signed deals with Netflix and Spotify.
Harry and Meghan have also signed up as ‘impact partners’ with a sustainable investment firm, and the prince recently drew criticism when he advised people to quit their jobs at an event for one of the projects he is involved with, the start-up ‘BetterUp’.
Daily Star has contacted Meghan's representatives for comment.
