Meghan Markle and Prince Harry still have one role tied to the Royal Family – which they kept after the Queen was “very happy” with their work.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back as senior working members of The Firm last March. They have since moved to Los Angeles, US, where they have signed blockbuster deals with Spotify and Netflix.

While it seems most of their links to the Royal Family have now been severed, royal expert Omid Scobie has revealed they have retained one role.

Speaking on his HeirPod podcast, he said: “Really, the only link to the Royal Family that they have at the moment is the work they do with the Queen's Commonwealth Trust.

"They do continue with their roles as President and Vice-President of the QCT, which, of course, the Queen is the head of.

"That's something she is very happy with the work they've done there.

"They also have their royal patronages as well."

Should anything change with “those relationships”, Omid said it would simply be a matter for the Sussexes and the trustees of the charities or organizations themselves.

"So I really don't think we're going to see much change come March 31st around that review period."

The Queen will head up the one-year review with the Sussexes in March, where they will discuss future plans.

Royal commentators Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie suggested on a recent episode of their podcast, Royally Obsessed, that the couple have “distanced themselves” from talks of Megxit.

This, they claim, could be so they can “hash out” a new deal come March 31.
