Meghan and Harry mocked over ‘security fears’ after sharing Archie garden snap
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been mocked online by Royal fans over the birthday snap they shared of Archie in the garden of their Californian home.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared the adorable image in honour of Archie Mountbatten Windsor's second birthday.
In a statement, the couple thanked followers for wishing their son a happy birthday and said they were "incredibly grateful" for those who donated to charities on his behalf.
Harry and Meghan's image shows little Archie playing with a balloon in the garden of their home, with his back to the camera.
It was largely well-received by social media users but some have mocked the pair for unveiling the layout of their garden despite previously claiming they had been concerned about safety.
One user said: "Worried about security so they don't post Archie's face but happily show off the layout of their garden? Where's the sense in that?"
A second wrote: "Thought they wanted privacy?????"
While a third added: "Happy birthday Archie!! I wish you could see your grandparents on your birthday but you can't. Instead, your mum and dad complain about security on Oprah but post pictures from inside their home."
The couple's decision to not post Archie's face was also met with a mixed reaction, but Meghan's fans rushed to her defence claiming several celebrities refuse to share their children's identities over security fears.
One user noted: "Give it a rest! Meghan and Harry can't do anything right! They're not posting his face for his own safety."
A second wrote: "She’s not showing his face for these exact reasons. Facebook trolls. You wouldn’t have an issue if it was your best friend not showing their child’s face don’t have an opinion because they’re ex royals. Stop telling mothers what to do with their children."

Meghan Markle's fans claim she was 'snubbed' in Prince Charles' 'rude' birthday message
Meghan and Harry had previously shared their security fears in a tell-all bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The Duke of Sussex had claimed he was worried about his young family when Prince Charles allegedly cut off state-funded security for the couple while they were in Canada.
Harry and Meghan then fled to the U.S. where they were protected by friend Tyler Perry who kept them safe until the pair hired their own detail.
From there, Archie, Meghan and Harry, moved to a multi-million dollar home in Montecito, California, but their safety issues haven't stopped.
A Freedom of Information request, submitted by the PA news agency, revealed the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office has been called to their property nine times since the family moved in.
