Medina Alert issued in fatal hit-and-run crash on I-25 in Thornton
A Medina Alert has been issued in connection to a fatal hit-and-run traffic crash on Interstate 25 in Thornton involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck.
The collision happened at about 8:20 p.m. Monday in the northbound lanes of the highway between 120th and 136th avenues, according to police.
A Yamaha motorcycle was heading north when there was a collision with black pickup truck, make and model unknown, police said. The motorcyclist died. The driver of the truck left the scene.
Thornton police are investigating the incident and want to talk with the pickup driver. Police do not know the license plate of the truck, which likely has damage to the passenger-side quarter panel and the front passenger-side corner.
The northbound lanes of the highway were closed for several hours Monday night by the incident.
Anyone with information on the incident, or with info about the truck or driver, is asked to call 911 or Thornton police at 720-977-5150.
