‘On July 3, 2021 in Leicester Square, a police cordon was put in place,’ Adrita Ahmed, prosecuting, told Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

‘The defendant attempted to break through the cordon.

‘There ended up being an altercation.

‘The defendant lunged towards PC Ioannis Hadjisavvas, attempting to headbutt him, but he moved his head away.

‘He continued to be aggressive.

‘A small wrap of cocaine was found in his pocket.

‘The defendant said ‘I’m going to sue you mate, you f**king p*** c**t.’

In his police interview he said: ‘I have friends who are Indian and Black, I would never say that.’

When Warner was asked if he would like to say anything in court he said: ‘I am genuinely, hand on heart, sorry.’
