Officers responded to reports of shots fired in Northglenn on Wednesday afternoon and found a deceased man, police said.

At about 1:45 p.m. police responded to the area of Fox Run Parkway and Fox Run Circle, according to a news release.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a dead male, police said.

Police initially sent out a code red notification to surrounding areas about the incident. The notification has expired as investigators believe that the suspect has fled the area, police said.

The immediate area, which is north of East 104th Avenue and south of Carpenter Park, is closed to traffic while officers continue to investigate. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Officer Jeremy Mayns at 303-450-8970 or send an email to  [email protected].
