An Australian man who bizarrely claims he is the son of Prince Charles and Camilla has spoken out over a comparison photo of him and a member of her family.

Simon Dorante-Day has attracted headlines after going public with his unfounded claims, which he has been researching for decades.

Dorante-Day has talked about new "crucial" evidence of a comparison photo of him and Camilla’s late brother Mark Shand.

The image was posted on Facebook with hundreds of Dorante-Day’s supporters citing "eerie" similarities.

While speaking with 7NEWS.com.au, Dorante-Day said: “A couple of people have said we look like twins and I have to agree.”

He continued: “One of my supporters found the comparison and it received a huge reaction on Facebook. I really think this is one of the more compelling photo comparisons, it’s hard to deny how much we look like one another.

“In paternity cases, facial similarities can be crucial and are definitely considered by the court – and you can see the close similarities between myself and Camilla as well as her brother, her son.

“There are also many similarities between my children, in particular, and members of the Windsor family – with Princess Charlotte and the Queen to name a few.

"Many have commented on how much I look like Prince William and Prince Andrew, to name a few.”

Several other comparison photos have been created comparing Dorante-Day with members of the Royal Family.

Dorante-Day was actually born in the UK on April 5, 1966, in Gosport, Portsmouth.

He was adopted by a local couple named Karen and David Day.

Dorante-Day does have a connection to the Royal Family with his adoptive grandparents, Winifred and Ernest Bowlden, who both worked for Queen and Prince Philip in one of their royal households.

In order to try to prove his unfounded claims, Dorante-Day has spent three years in courts battling to have Prince Charles and Camilla submit a DNA test.

In a previous 7NEWS.com.au article, Dorante-Day said: “This is a lengthy legal process and one I’m not giving up. I have taken my case to the Australian High Court, but they referred it back to the Family Court – and that will happen again in the next few months.”

Clarence House has never commented on the outlandish allegations.
