Man busted for coronavirus-inspired robbery of Asian woman in Brooklyn

A man was busted for allegedly robbing an Asian woman inside a Brooklyn train station and telling her to “go back to China” in a coronavirus-inspired attack, police sources told The Post.

The 26-year-old woman was inside the Fort Hamilton Parkway D station in Borough Park at about 11 p.m. Thursday when Oswald Jones, 60, approached her and began yelling, telling her to, “Get off the train. You Chinese.”

“Go back to China. Get your temperature checked. You need to leave,” Jones told the woman, then snatched her cellphone from her hand, sources said.

Cops busted Jones shortly after the incident — the latest in a wave of suspected racist crimes amid the spread of COVID-19.

He was charged with grand larceny and aggravated harassment, police said.

The woman was not injured during the robbery.
