Man, 55, slaps wife and attacks her naked lover after catching hotel romp

The fuming boss of a private ambulance firm saw red when he walked in on his wife and her stark-naked lover, a court heard.

Raging Mike Morgan, 55, dragged his nude love rival from a shower and wrestled him on the bed of the hotel room where the rendezvous had taken place.

A gobsmacked Morgan also attacked his estranged bride, Rossalin, having spotted her car outside the four-star retreat where she worked as a cleaner.

But he was ill-prepared for what he found when he knocked on the hotel room door, the court heard.

He found Rossalin in a "state of undress" whilst her naked lover, Neil Bannister, took a shower, a court was told.

Morgan slapped his 40-year-old ex who fell to the floor as he dragged her undressed lover across the room.

The pair then scrapped on the bed, Prosecutor Nadine Clough said, before a starkers Bannister managed to overpower Morgan and push him down to defuse the situation.

Morgan continued to be abusive, branding his wife a "horrible woman", before finally leaving.

Mr Bannister is said to have suffered scratches and bruises during Morgan’s October rampage at the £200-a-night Coniton Hotel in Skipton, North Yorks.

Morgan, whose fleet of ambulances provided cover at the London Olympics, admitted assault by beating of both his wife and Bannister.

He also pleaded guilty to harassment without violence of Rossalin between October 4 and October 10.

Mitigating, John Mewies, said his client had “come across a scene that he could barely believe", The Sun reported.

He said: “She was in a state of undress and he saw a naked man in the shower. He lost his temper and there was a bit of a fracas in the hotel room.

"He is deeply affected by this, but it is a situation not of his making. He came across a scene that he could barely believe."

Morgan will return to Skipton Magistrates’ Court on January 15 to be sentenced.

Following the hearing, Rossalin told the Sun the pair had already split up on the day of the fight.
