Lotto louts ‘to sue’ Camelot after pair are denied £4m payout despite winning jackpot

He told The Sun: “My clients have been very open and upfront about their upbringing in care homes and hard struggles in life, including previous substance misuse problems, which both have tried really hard to overcome. 

“Camelot is in effect holding my clients’ ransom to their past. 

“My clients consider Camelot are behaving in a culturally racist way by subjecting them to a level of scrutiny, checking and vetting, they would not otherwise do if the person who claimed the prize spoke in a posh accent.”

He added: “My clients take the view it is because they are working-class northerners with a history.” 

Mr Hendron is representing the unemployed twosome for free but will receive a cut if they win in court. 

Goodram has 22 convictions for 45 offences and said the duo were “surviving off the kindness of strangers”. 

Watson, a convicted burglar, wants to splash the cash to become a “Bolton legend” like Amir Khan, Paddy McGuiness and Peter Kay. 

The scratchcard, which was proven to be legitimate, was bought at a Waitrose in Clapham, in south-west London.
