Footage shows armed cops aiming their guns at a man lying on the ground on the north side of the bridge.

They asked members of the public to step away from the man before he was shot by one of the firearms officers.

It is reported six people have been injured with three in a life-threatening condition.

Another man described the panic as they were told to get on the floor after buying food from a stall.

He said: “We were told ‘get down, get down’ so we dived down by an area where we bought food from.

“There was nowhere to go really, the place cleared. I looked up there seemed to be a flash someone running, I don’t know what it was whether it was gun fire or not.

“Everyone was very shaken and then when it was over we looked to see if everyone okay.”
