London Bridge attack hero Geoff Ho thanks off-duty cop who saved his life as the pair reveal what it was like trying to stay calm in chaotic scenes
A MAN stabbed in the neck in the London Bridge terror attack has met with the off-duty cop who saved his life.
Geoff Ho was left covered in blood after trying to take on the machete-wielding terrorists, with the Sunday Express business editor rushed to safety by cops at the scene.
Reliving the night, Geoff said: "They (the terrorists) kicked in the door and as they did so, people hid.
"People scattered – some hid under tables, some went into hiding in the back, some just froze to the spot – I knew I had to do something. In that split second, I decided I was going to have to try to keep them occupied."
Knowing that police were in the area, he said he tried to talk to the terrorists, saying: "I had to keep them busy, keep them engaged. I thought if I can keep them talking, they're not attacking.
"They came in, they screamed expletives and 'get on the floor' – they wanted everyone to lie down face down so they could come up and stab them in the back."
But Geoff said he challenged the terrorists, then grappling with them to stop the murderers from getting into the Black and Blue restaurant.
He said: "They tried to stab me in the stomach but I manged to dodge those, I had tried landing a couple of punches, I landed and connected with one at least."
Despite his best efforts, Geoff was stabbed, with off-duty cop Sam Philpott one of the first to arrive at the scene.
The pair, who had not met since the horrific night, were reunited in the This Morning studios, with the men sharing an emotional hug.
Geoff, who is still nursing wounds from the horrific night that claimed the lives of eight people, smiled as he got the chance to thank the cop.
One of the first words out of Geoff's mouth was "thank you".

"He's one of the guys who helped save my life."
Policeman Sam Philpott said: "It was one of the worst nights of my life."
But he said Geoff had been surprisingly calm, saying: "You said that you were annoyed at yourself that you didn't do more, which is just astonishing."
