Logan Mwangi’s killers receive minimum 72 years between them for brutal murder
Only July 31 2021, the body of Logan Mwangi was found in a river near the house he lived in with his mother and stepfather.
He was found with more than 50 injuries on his body, some of which were internal and akin to car crash victims, while CCTV footage picked up two people carrying his body out to the river stuffed in a Nike bag.
Angharad Williamson, John Cole and a third killer whose identity remains undisclosed, were found guilty of murdering the little lad despite being the very people responsible for protecting him.
Logan is thought to have undergone horrific suffering in the days before his death, a brutal time of mistreatment after coming down with Covid-19.
The boy was locked in his bedroom with the exit barred by a stairgate. Curtains were shut and he was forced to stand facing a wall in the corner of the room when food was brought to him.
The chain of events that led to his death began after he was blamed for damaging a stereo, although the details about the truth of his suffering remain hazy, obscured by the lies and self-interested behaviour of his killers in court.
What sentences did Logan Mwangi’s killers get?
Logan Mwangi’s mum, Angharad Williamson, was given a life sentence in prison with a minimum term of 28 years.
His stepfather, John Cole, was given a 29-year minimum behind bars.
The unnamed 14-year-old has been given a life sentence with a minimum of 15 years.
Williamson and the youth were found guilty of perverting the course of justice, which Cole also pleaded guilty to.

The killers of Logan Mwangi have spent the last few weeks in and out of Cardiff Crown Court but will now be taken to more permanent facilities following their sentencing, which will see all three serve substantial time behind bars.
Williamson is understood to have spent time at Eastwood Park prison prior to her sentencing.
Logan was dumped in the River Ogmore in Bridgend, South Wales following his death but was reported missing by the guilty parties in an effort to cover up his death.
Judge Mrs Justice Jefford told the court that the five-year-old was “was three feet five inches and weighed only three stone one pound and subjected to a brutal attack.
“Inflicting these injuries on a small, defenceless five-year-old is nothing short of horrific."
Addressing the killers directly she said: “You are responsible for Logan's death and all the anguish that has followed from it. Because he was killed in his own home, it is not possible to be sure what has happened to him.
“Shortly before his death, at which time he was three feet five inches and weighed only three stone one pound, he was subjected to a brutal attack.”
