Macauley Negus had been held in custody for 36 hours in Madrid.

He was accused of assaulting police officers, but it is now understood he has been released without charge, reports Plymouth Live.

A smiling picture of him with dad, Darren Negus, has since surfaced to the relief of family, friends and fans.

It was alleged Macauley had been found in the street semi-naked and drunk.

He was also “too drunk to give officers his real name”, according to reports.
