LEGO retailer sells Zelensky figurine and mini Molotov cocktails to raise £12k
A LEGO retailer has raised $16,540 (£12k) for war victims in Ukraine by selling mini-figures of the President.
Citizen Brick, which offers custom-printed toy sets, began selling limited edition figures of Volodymyr Zelensky for $100 (£76) and Molotov cocktails for $10 (£7) on March 4.
The Molotov cocktails were tiny green bottles with plastic flames coming out of the top and a Ukraine flag on the outside.
President Zelensky's figure was a frustrated-looking figurine wearing a camouflage shade of green, with small dots on his face for his stubble.
The products, which gave 100% of the proceeds to Direct Relief for those fighting against the Russian invasion, sold out within 24 hours.
The company wrote on their Facebook page: "A huge thank you to everyone who donated to yesterday's fundraiser for Ukraine.
"Through the sale of the President Zelenskyy minifigs (and Molotov Cocktails, which got our last post pulled down. Go figure.) we we able to raise $16,540!!!
"The entire amount was donated to @directrelief to assist their efforts to bring medical supplies to those in need.
"As you may have noticed, the minifigs sold out almost immediately. We made as many as possible in a frantic 24 hrs, with the CB crew coming in on their day off to print.

"We know there were some folks who tried to get one and couldn't. We hope they'll consider making a direct donation to a relevant charity nonetheless.
"Please be patient as we try to get everyone's order out this week. Thanks for proving, once again, that we have the best customers in the world."
Customers who missed out on the quick sale have demanded a restock and have also requested a few different items be added to the range.
