SEX offender Brian Butler looks like he hasn’t a care in the world as he takes his first steps to freedom after serving just three years for sexually assaulting his little sister.

The fresh-faced degenerate smiled as he chatted to a mystery woman at the gates of Arbour Hill Prison in Ireland.

The north Dublin detainment centre has housed some of the country’s most notorious criminals.

It previously confined rapist Larry Murphy — who was jailed in 2001 for the abduction, repeated rape and attempting to murder a young Carlow woman in 2000.

On Wednesday morning, Butler, 35, from Baldoyle in north Dublin, jumped into a car upon his release before taking off.

A source said: “He was laughing and joking as if he was returning from a holiday, not like someone who has just come out of jail for sex abuse, it’s disgusting. He was very excited about getting out and going off to start his life again.”

Bizarrely, because he was a teenager at the time of the sexual abuse, Butler had described himself and his sister as being “both victims”.

FAMILY TORN APART

In 2016, he pleaded guilty at the Central Criminal Court to sexual assault and oral rape of his sister at their family home between January 2000 and December 2002.

The court heard he began abusing his sister Leanne when he was 14 and continued until he was 17. His sister was aged between nine and 12.

Leanne Butler waived her right to anonymity at the time of her brother’s conviction and told the court her family had been completely torn apart and destroyed by the abuse.

She said she felt as if her brother was treated as the victim and she still feels this.

Leanne described her brother as her “favourite person, my protector” and that she had been a very happy child “without a care in the world”.

When she was nine, he began abusing her and she described how the first time he touched her she felt “paralysed in fear, confusion and pain”.

But she blamed herself and said she “felt bad like I had been bold”.

She also said she felt disgusting.

Butler continued to abuse his sister for the next two years and the young woman said she felt trapped and confused.

The sicko was sentenced to six years behind bars.

However, last year, he successfully appealed his sentence which was cut by two years.
