Biden plays defense at debate: ‘My son did nothing wrong’
Former Vice President Joe Biden played defense at Tuesday night’s Democratic debate, pushing back as President Donald Trump faces an impeachment inquiry over his request to have Ukraine investigate Biden and his son, Hunter.
Trump has said that Hunter Biden’s serving on a Ukrainian company’s board while his father was serving as vice president was improper.
Hunter Biden said in an interview with ABC News that he never discussed his foreign business dealings with his father, except in one instance where the former vice president said, “I hope you know what you’re doing.” Hunter Biden also said he used “poor judgment” when he decided to join the company’s board but said he did nothing improper.

Debating 11 other Democratic presidential hopefuls in Westerville, Ohio, ex-Vice President Biden urged that the focus turn back to Trump. “Rudy Giuliani, the president and his thugs have already proven the fact that they are flat lying,” Biden said. Earlier Tuesday, Giuliani, the president’s personal lawyer, said he wouldn’t comply with a congressional subpoena.
Medtronic Recalls 6 French Sherpa NX Active Guide Catheters
Medical device company Medtronic, on Tuesday, recalled all models of its 6 French Sherpa NX active guide catheters due to separation and fragmentation issues.
According to the company, the catheter has a potential risk of outer material separating from the device exposing the underlying stainless-steel braid wires. The detached fragments, that could remain in the patients’ bloodstream, together with the attempts to retrieve the broken pieces, could result in blockage of blood vessels, injury to blood vessel walls, development of blood clots, embolism, heart attack or death.
Medtronic said it received five customer complaints and no serious injuries or deaths were reported. The company said the recall does not affect the Medtronic launcher coronary guide catheter or other Medtronic coronary stents, balloons or implantable devices.
The FDA identified this as class I recall as the use of these devices may cause serious injuries or death.
The recall is applicable to the catheters manufactured from March 10, 2017, to March 14, 2019, and distributed between April 3, 2017, and April 4, 2019. Around 1 lakh devices are being recalled.
The 6 French Sherpa NX active guide catheter is used to access veins and arteries inside and outside the heart.

Democratic Candidates Differ On Ways To Rein In Facebook, Other Big Tech Firms
Facebook and other tech giants were targets of Democratic candidates at Tuesday night’s debate, but the presidential hopefuls did show some differences in how they would rein in their power.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) has been most aggressive in calling for breaking up some of the dominant firms, and most recently said that she would not take major donations from their executives.
“We need to enforce our antitrust laws, break up these giant companies that are dominating big tech, big pharma, big oil, all of them,” Warren said.
Yotpo to move in at 400 Lafayette
The e-commerce plug-in Yotpo will move and expand to 27,269 square feet at 400 Lafayette St. on the northwest corner of East 4th Street.
The fourth-floor sublease from SeatGeek includes the installation, which has glass-fronted offices and rooms. The multilevel spaces have open seating, multiple breakout rooms, conference rooms and phone booths — plus the kind of bleacher-like town hall seating area that millennial companies adore.
It will also allow Yotpo to host tech conferences such as its inaugural Destination: D2C earlier in October.
Yotpo is currently located in 23,332 square feet on the fifth and sixth floors at 33 W. 19th St. in the Flatiron District. Along with the need to expand, it is moving to the Noho-Soho area to be closer to its customers.
The Israel-based Yotpo’s creative e-commerce marketing tech is used by fast-growing consumer brands including Allbirds, Away, Rebecca Minkoff and Glossier.
It started in 2015 with 4,500 square feet at 39 W. 14th St. This will be its third NYC office.
The company was represented by Christina Jones and Eva Shih of T3 Advisors.
Nick Farmakis, David Goldstein, Brad Wolk and Chris Thompson of Savills represented SeatGeek in its current sublease to Yotpo and its new offices at 902 Broadway.
Knoll renews lease at 1330 Avenue of the Americas
Office furniture designer Knoll has renewed and expanded to 60,500 square feet at 1330 Avenue of the Americas between West 53rd and 54th streets.
The company’s showroom will remain on the second and third floors but also expand into a portion of the fourth floor. The latter floor was being used for its executive offices, which will now relocate to portions of the sixth and 11th floors, totaling 12,500 square feet.
The firm is known for its office systems, seating, storage, desks and accessories for the office, home and higher education settings. Knoll will build out its own space — likely with its own furniture.
Andrew Ackerman and Alexandra Budd represented RXR in-house in the direct deal. “They have a fantastic showroom,” noted Ackerman.
Current building asking rents range from the mid-$80s to mid-$90s per square foot. Availabilities include roughly 70,000 square feet of high-floor pre-builts.
