This is the adorable moment a kitten helps a puppy squeeze through the bars of a gate separating them so that the two unlikely friends can play together.

Although the dog manages to ram its head between the narrow gaps in the rails, it becomes stuck when trying to wiggle its legs and tail through. 

But, incredibly, the kitten reaches its paw through the gate and shoves its pooch pal’s furry backside to help it get the rest of the way.

And the astounding scene, which occurred in Phichit, Thailand, this month, amused witnesses who broke into laughter.

When the feline spots the canine grappling at the railings, it immediately bounds over to it and appears to try to pull the pooch through by its arms.

But it cannot get a grip on the puppy, which then manages to slide its head through the hole by standing up on its hind legs. 

The dog then wiggles itself through and puts its front paws on to the floor of the blocked-off room, however, its rear legs and tail remain stuck.

Finally, the dog scrambles through the hole and wags its tail ferociously as it begins to play with the kitten.

A woman, who filmed the animal mission, can be heard chuckling to herself after watching the adorable pair work together.
