King made ‘terrible mistake’ giving Harry’s kids royal titles, author claims

A royal expert has claimed that King Charles made a “terrible mistake” in allowing Prince Harry and Meghan’s children to have royal titles.

The Sussexes revealed that Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two, would have their titles at their youngest child’s christening in California earlier this year. This is following debates on whether the children would take them after the official exit of Harry and Meghan performing official royal duties.

The children are still sixth and seventh in line to the throne and Tom Bower, author of Revenge: Megan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors, claims that King Charles should never have allowed it, adding that it was a "terrible mistake" that could embarrass the monarchy, reports the Mirror.

The acclaimed royal biographer told Express US: "Harry and Meghan have undermined the monarchy and Charles has made a terrible mistake. He should have cut them off straight away. He should never have allowed their children to be made a prince and princess.”

Mr Bower also insists that Harry "shouldn't have been invited" to the coronation – and instead says the monarchy should have completely cut the Sussexes off after their move to Montecito, California.

Things went downhill for the relationship between Harry and Meghan and the rest of the Royal Family after the infamous Oprah Winfrey interview in 2021, when the Duchess of Sussex sensationally claimed that a member of the family was racist towards her.

And when Prince Harry published his tell-all memoir Spare at the start of this year, it only made matters worse for the relationship between him and brother Prince William.

According to polling, Harry and Meghan's popularity continues to drop on both sides of the Atlantic, while the release of their Netflix series last year resulted in even more bombshell allegations.

But the Duke and Duchesses' Netflix deal reportedly won't be coming to an end anytime soon, which leaves the door open for more documentaries and more revelations about life in the Royal Family.

Despite rumours their deal is in trouble, Netflix has denied them, instead confirming that they have a strong connection with the couple. A spokesperson said: "The bond with Archewell Productions is one we deeply value. Harry and Meghan launched Netflix's most spectacular documentary debut to date.”
