Kate takes ‘gradual steps’ to steer from being Will’s wife to ‘working royal’

Kate Middleton is taking "gradual steps" to prove herself a "good team player" in the Royal Family as an expert noted how she changed her public image over the years.

The Duchess of Cambridge has bonded a "very close" relationship with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, that insiders are hinting they could form a new "fab four ".

The mum-of-three was also praised for "revolutionising" the royals' social media game – showing down-to-earth images of husband Prince William fooling around with their children and a "mould-breaking" image of William and his father Prince Charles.

And expert Joe Little, managing editor for Majesty Magazine, shared his thoughts on Royally Us podcast on what makes Kate a good team player.

He said: "I think the fact that she took things very gradually.

"In the past certainly when Diana came on the scene that she either threw herself or was thrown into royal duties immediately with mixed success, there was no real template.

"Kate was very gradual, she appeared occasionally but for the first few years, she was really William's wife rather than a working member of the Royal Family."

He explained that the Duchess was "selective in the royal duties" in the early days of her royal life, adding: "Now we see her performing to a very high standard with the charities that mean so much to her."

The expert said Kate has found her own "niche within the Royal Family" and that she focuses on things that mean a great deal to her.

"She feels she can give something to the charities rather than just cover lots of charities but not in a great way," Joe explained.
