Kate Middleton breaks hearts posing with cute cockapoo puppy on hospital visit

On official Royal visits, Kate Middleton the Duchess of Cambridge is used to attracting a lot of attention for her outfits – but for once it would appear she has been upstaged.

While visiting Clitheroe Community Hospital in Lancashire today, Kate and Prince William were accosted by a fluffy therapy cockapoo puppy named Alfie and it's fair to say it was love at first sight.

As a doting mum of three to her Royal brood, Kate was visibly overcome with joy at the little pup and wasted no time in snuggling up close to it.

At one point she could be heard exclaiming: "You are so sweet! You match my coat!"

And speaking of Kate's coat, it was quite the number.

For their second Royal outing of 2022, Kate had opted for a £349 Massimo Dutti beige camel wool and cashmere coat.

She teamed the coat with a gorgeous camel polo neck jumper and matching skirt and completed the look with tan boots.

The Royal couple were visiting the hospital to meet NHS workers and hear of their experiences throughout the Covid pandemic.

The couple also met GPs, nurses, and patients at the hospital.

William told staff: "We're so grateful for all your hard work.

"I'm not sure there are enough words to say how grateful everyone is for what you have done."

He said he had a particular affinity with staff because of his time as an air ambulance pilot.

Alfie was funded through hospital charity ELHT&me using a grant from NHS Charities Together.

The puppy will be used to support the well-being of staff and patients.
