The US First Lady played an April Fools’ prank on members of the media and staff on the flight. She served the staff while wearing a short black wig and a ‘Jasmine’ name tag. According to a pool report, Mrs Biden shouted “Aprils fools”. The staff were fooled by the First Lady’s prank.

It comes just days after Mrs Biden was mocked online after a “super embarrassing” attempt to show off her Spanish skills.

The First Lady’s speech in California alongside Governor Gavin Newsom in Delano went viral on Twitter after speaking to farmworkers.

Dr Jill Biden’s pronunciation of “¡Si Se Puede!,” which translates to “yes we can” in Spanish drew criticism online.

The phrase became popularised by César Chávez and United Farm Workers co-founder Dolores Huerta in 1970s.

Twitter was alight with comments as one said: “Jill Biden makes Peggy Hill sound like a native Spanish speaker.”

Another added: “That’s super embarrassing.”

A third person wrote: “My drunk English is better Spanish than this.”

While a fourth noted: “She butchered the hell out of that.”

The embarrassing moment comes amid reports President Joe Biden’s rescue dog Major nipped an individual on White House grounds, a spokesman said on Tuesday, the second such incident involving the younger of Biden’s two German Shepherds.

Earlier this month, Major bit a security staff member, according to media reports.

The incident caused a “minor injury,” a White House spokeswoman said at the time.

“Major is still adjusting to his new surroundings and he nipped someone while on a walk,” Michael LaRosa, a spokesman for first lady Jill Biden, said of Monday’s incident.

“Out of an abundance of caution, the individual was seen by (the White House medical unit) and then returned to work without injury.”

Following the first incident, the dog had a round of training in President Biden’s home state of Delaware to help acclimate him to life at the 18-acre (7-hectare) complex in Washington.

He is surrounded by aides and security officers.

Mr Biden is scheduled to spend the Easter holiday weekend in the more spacious Camp David presidential retreat near Thurmont, Maryland.
