A Japanese sicko dubbed the “Twitter Killer” was sentenced to death Tuesday by a Tokyo district court for killing and hacking up nine people before being discovered to be living with their body parts.

Takahiro Shiraishi, 30, was found guilty of murdering, dismembering and storing the bodies in his apartment in Zama city in Kanagawa, on the outskirts of Tokyo, Reuters reported.

The prosecution had argued that Shiraishi contacted his victims via Twitter after they expressed suicidal thoughts, according to the Jiji news agency.

Using a handle that loosely translates as “hangman,” Shiraishi invited them to his apartment, promising to help them die, according to the local outlet, which cited the indictment.

Shiraishi’s defense team argued that he killed the victims with their approval, Kyodo News reported.

Judge Naokuni Yano ruled that the victims did not consent to being killed, and that Shiraishi was mentally fit to be held responsible in their deaths.

Shiraishi strangled and mutilated eight women and one man ages 15 to 26 from August to October 2017, according to the Japanese outlet, which added that he also was alleged to have sexually assaulted all his female victims.
