Instagram model busted on cocaine charges as cops clamp down on ‘brazen’ dealers

A glamorous Instagram model has been busted for alleged cocaine dealing in a major Christmas crackdown by authorities.

Vera Zinger, 23, who flogs swimwear products and gym supplements to her 84K followers, was arrested after cops reportedly found four bags of the Class-A in her car.

Sydney police swooped on Ms Zinger, who often updates her fans with snaps from her travels across the globe, driving through the swanky Barangaroo district in the north-west of the city.

Officers conducting the search on November 19 also found $2,150 (£1,618.74) of cash in the vehicle. Zinger was subsequently issued with a court attendance notice for two counts of supplying prohibited narcotics.

She was also charged with possession of a banned drug and dealing with proceeds of crime, local media reports.

Despite the arrest, Zinger continued to update her many Instagram followers with a series of racy snaps from luxurious locations around the world.

Zinger posted to Instagram an image of herself clad in a tiny bikini posing in front of a picturesque waterfall in Croatia, back in September.

The 23-year-old, who has also reportedly worked as a personal trainer and waitress, also uploaded snaps from locations including Barcelona, Ibiza, Amsterdam, Mykonos and Santorini.

Underneath a picture captured in Italy, Zinger wrote: "After two months of travelling, I clearly have still not found what I am searching for,' she wrote alongside a picture in Italy.

"I will continue to do the 'hand on head – it's sunny' pose until then," Daily Mail Australia reports.

Ms Zinger's arrest came as Sydney police launched an operation to disrupt the harbour city's cocaine trade as the festive season approached.

New South Wales (NSW) police said it arrested 40 alleged drug dealers in the clampdown, with the majority of those caught set to make New Year court appearances in January.

Officials said that 350 grams of cocaine, plus MDMA, cannabis and cash had been recovered in targetted raids over three weeks in November and December ahead of the festive season.

Among those rounded up for alleged cocaine supply or possession, are a pregnant 24-year-old, a taxi driver and a Royal Australian Air Force member, 23.

NSW authorities say it is the largest number of arrests the department had made in one operation since it launched Strike Force two years ago.

“Officers were astounded by how brazen some of these alleged drug transactions have become, often taking place in highly-visible and crowded locations in Sydney’s CBD and surrounding suburbs,” Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Bell said.

“This operation once again shows that cocaine supply and possession is not limited to one specific group of people, with several individuals from well-regarded professions in the community among those now before the courts.”
