An influencer won’t be jailed for hurling abuse and a glass bottle in a fight that left a man dead.

Scarlett Taylor, from Melbourne, Australia, pleaded guilty to affray and bail offences in relation to the incident in which Cam Smith was attacked last November, reportsNews.com.au.

Mr Smith had been trying to defend his girlfriend Natasha Stroumas at a railway station when he was allegedly stabbed through the heart by Jack Ledlin, who has pleaded not guilty to murder and is set to face trial.

Taylor, 21, appeared today for a pre-sentence hearing and apologised through her lawyer Megan Casey for her role in the tragedy.

"I didn’t want any of this to happen. There’s a lot I’d like to say but it’s really hard to convey it," she said.

"I'm grieving him too… he will always be a part of me. I’m really sorry."

The court heard that Taylor and Ms Stroumas had had a fight the previous year over a bottle of alcohol, and as they passed each other in the town of Seaford in November Taylor began to hurl insults at the other woman.

"F****** fat bitch," Taylor yelled at her. She then threw a bottle at the woman’s feet and the fight kicked off, with several people involved.

"Get the f*** back, slut," she yelled at Ms Stroumas.

Taylor’s lawyer, Megan Casey, told the court she had been trying to stop Ms Stroumas from helping her boyfriend, but she hadn’t been involved in the actual fight, and she felt remorse for her role.

But prosecutor Grant Hayward said Taylor’s behaviour was "hostile and insulting" and she had lied to police when questioned about the others who were at the scene.

A 17-year-old boy and 19-year-old Liam Casley have been sentenced for their roles in the fight but were not accused of Mr Smith’s murder. They had both kicked Mr Smith as he lay dying.

Casley was jailed for eight months, with an eight-month community corrections order for affray, while the minor was ordered to serve a 12-month youth supervision order.

The judge said he had taken into consideration Taylor’s disadvantaged background and her recent improved behaviour.

"Given the submissions I’ve heard, your client will not be going to jail," Justice Michael Croucher said, adding he planned to impose a community corrections order that would include alcohol, drug and mental health issues.

Taylor will be formally sentenced next month.
