A DAD who has fathered more than 160 kids has told how he will be lucky if he gets a pair of socks for Father’s Day.

Sperm Donor Joe, 51, has had sex with nearly 200 women and has even got some pregnant without ever meeting them.

He impregnates women that he meets online by “partial intercourse” – sex without kissing or cuddling – NI, natural intercourse, and AI, artificial intercourse.

Single Joe, who uses a pseudonym, has travelled across America, Argentina, Italy, Singapore, The Philippines and the UK donating his sperm.

But despite racking up more than 160 tots, Father’s Day is a quiet affair in his household.

Joe, who is from the US but lives in the UK, told The Sun: “I’m going to be seeing one of my children on Father’s Day.

“Father’s Day is so different from Mother’s Day, because Mother’s Day is all about getting flowers and all these things but Father’s Day if you’re lucky you might get some socks.

“I’ve got 160 kids and I would consider myself lucky if I got a pair of socks or something.

“Finger’s crossed – I could do with some new pairs.

“It’s more about trying to spend a little time with your children.

“This Father’s Day I’ll probably talk to about a dozen of my children. I wouldn’t have time to talk to 160 children anyway so it works out.

“Lots of my children are in different time zones so I’ll probably end up speaking to them on different days.”

Joe refers to himself as the “angel of the north”, for helping women who can’t naturally conceive to fulfil their dreams.

After two years of Covid restrictions there has been nationwide sperm shortage, with private and NHS sperm banks across the UK running dry.

The donor shortage, coupled with the high cost of going private – as much as £2k for a single artificial insemination (AI) cycle using donor sperm, or £7k for IVF – has pushed thousands of women to find help through social media.

He said: “People contact me on Facebook or Instagram or email me and ask me for help and I usually will ask them about their period.

“I use the start date for all my calculations and I put that in my calculator and then we work out a date to meet and we discuss exactly how they want to go about doing it.

“For some people the natural insemination is the most effective but some people are in a relationship where they feel that might cause trouble, so they prefer to do an artificial insemination.

HOW DOES SPERM DONATION WORK IN THE UK?

In the UK, donation in exchange for payment is prohibited by law.

If you donate your sperm through a fertility clinic or a sperm bank, you won’t have any responsibilities or rights towards a child conceived using your semen.

However, as of April 2005, children conceived through sperm donation do have the right to ask for certain information about their donor once they reach the age of 16.

You can find the clinic that is best for you through the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) licensed clinic.

Every year, around 2,000 children are conceived with the help of a donor.

Donated sperm cannot be used to create more than 10 families, with no limits on the number of children born within each family.

“I help people all over the UK. Right now I have a couple of women who are pregnant because I sent them my sperm by overnight courier.

“So I got those women pregnant without ever meeting them.

“Out of my 160 kids I have met more than 60. There are some kids that I meet on a daily basis and there are some that I often talk with on WhatsApp.”

However, The Sun recently told how prospective mums searching for donors on social media were bombarded with texts pressuring them into sex and sent X-rated, unsolicited pictures.

One Facebook moderator warned of a "sperm mafia” where well-known donors resort to threats and blackmail when they fall out with ‘rivals’.

And vile messages are being traded on donor messaging groups with names like 'Sperm Bandits', where one poster brags about his sexual exploits with a lesbian woman after agreeing to help her try for a baby.

“Unfortunately we don’t know the scale of it because this is a very secretive world, but with some men, that is the way they work.”

WHO CAN BE SPERM DONOR IN THE UK?

According to CoParent.co.uk, donors must:

• Be aged between 18 and 41
• Agree to be screened for medical conditions
• Be free from any serious medical disability or any sexually transmitted diseases
• Be healthy and fit
• Know and provide information about the medical history of their family (parents, grandparents, siblings and children)
• Have no inherited disorders within their family
• Not use any drugs
• Agree that their ID can be released if requested by any person conceived as a result of their donations once said person reaches the age of 18
• Provide a proof of ID (copy of their passport or driving licence)
• Be willing to commit their time to the sperm donation process
• Have high sperm quality (mobility, count and shape).
