Illegal Valentine’s Day houseboat party raided by police issuing £200 fines
A man has been arrested and 11 people have been fined £200 after cops rumbled two suspected Valentine's Day parties in London.
Met Police in Southwark were called to a flat in Camberwell where a group of 11 was gathered, breaking coronavirus restrictions.
Southwark Police tweeted: "While romance can be difficult in the current climate, being in groups will net you a £200 fine like it did these people. Please stay home!"
Just the night before, police were also called to the River Lea in Hackney to reports of a loud party.
Several complaints were made about a large number of revellers blasting music on a houseboat on the river in the early hours on Saturday.
