Horror pictures show girl, 6, in unicorn pyjamas who died in Russian airstrike as doctors says ‘show this to Putin’

HORROR images show a six-year-old girl wearing unicorn pyjamas who was fatally injured in a Russian airstrike.

Despite the medical team's heroic efforts the girl could not be saved, with an angry doctor saying “Show this to Putin.”

The painful images show the little girl covered in blood, being rushed to the hospital in an ambulance in Mariupol after sustaining injuries in the shelling.

Her terrified mum was pictured weeping as she waited outside the ambulance while the medical team desperately tried to revive her pumping her chest.

"Take her out! Take her out! We can make it!" a hospital worker shouted, while a nurse gave the girl an injection and another one tried reviving her with a defibrillator.

A doctor pumping oxygen into her told the reporter who was allowed inside: "Show this to Putin. The eyes of this child, and crying doctors.”

The tragic six-year-old who has not been named, could not be saved.

Sadly, she was one of the 16 young victims, added to the death toll in the brutal war between Russia and Ukraine, said Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko, according to the Kyiv Independent.

Russia has so far fired more than 350 missiles at Ukrainian, with many hitting civilians.

Fighting has continued in Ukraine over the weekend with explosions being heard in cities across the country, including the capital  Kharkiv, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv.

Russian troops have failed to take over Kyiv that still mounts firm resistance after five days.

It comes as…

  • Ukrainian troops have destroyed a convoy of Russian special forces made up of Chechen fighters
  • Fierce fighting has been taking place in Kharkiv where Ukrainian commanders say they are in "full control"
  • A blitz from Russian forces to hold a crucial road junction five miles west of Kyiv city centre was beaten off
  • Soldiers thought to have been killed after telling Russians to "go f**k yourselves" may still be alive
  • Missiles rained down on the country in the fourth night of war
  • Western allies agreed to boot Russian banks out of the Swift system
  • Roman Abramovich gave up control of Chelsea football club
  • Freedom fighters from around the world were invited to join Ukraine’s army today and take on Putin's troops.
  • A former Miss Ukraine "has taken up arms" to fight against the Russian invasion

Even though Putin's forces have reportedly seized the city of Berdyansk they failed to take the country’s second city Kharkiv, where The Sun witnessed them being beaten back with tanks and rockets.

Last night the capital's mayor Vitali Klitschko denied Kyiv is "encircled" by the Russians.

Peace talks are due to be held between Moscow and Kyiv on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border.

Diplomats from Kyiv and Moscow are set to meet "without preconditions" near the Prypyat River.

President Zelenskyy's office said Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko "has taken responsibility for ensuring that all planes, helicopters and missiles stationed on Belarusian territory remain on the ground during the Ukrainian delegation's travel, talks and return."

Ukraine's foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba said the talks were called following a conversation between Zelenskyy and Lukashenko after it was feared Belarus was preparing its troops to join Moscow's invasion.

It comes after Putin put his nuclear forces on high alert just after warning the West "may face the greatest consequences in history".

The Russian tyrant is said to be "furious" he's not been able to subdue Ukraine and lashed out at NATO for its "unfriendly measures" he says forced him into the chilling nuclear gamble.
