Honeytrap sisters ‘lured men on date before armed gang demanded £47k’

Two sisters have been arrested on suspicion of luring a pair of businessmen into an ambush – before demanding a £47,000 ransom.

Gimena Solange, 21, and sibling Macarena Agustina, 23, are accused of being part of a gang which snatched wealthy targets.

One of the 'honeytrap' sisters is said said to have met one of the victims on a beach in Pinamar, Argentina, in November last year.

As their relationship grew, they agreed to meet at a bar, with the businessman bringing a pal along and the woman bringing her sister.

After a couple of hours all four left after one of the women said she wanted to go home, and they all drove home together.

When they got there, one of the victims was encouraged to get out of the car to give his date a goodnight kiss.

He did so, and immediately found himself surrounded by armed men, who locked him in the boot of the car.

The other man, still inside the vehicle, had a bag placed over his head and the gang demanded £36,780 from the men.

According to reports, the gang of extortionists were led by Solange's boyfriend 'Topo' Ojeda.

The arrests came after police in the province of Buenos Aires in eastern Argentina dismantled an alleged gang of kidnappers working in the municipalities of Paso del Rey, Merlo, Isidro Casanova, Longchamps and Villa Albertina.

The two men reportedly said they did not have the amount in local currency but could provide £47,203, and they were taken to a flat in Puerto Madero to retrieve it, accompanied by the armed men.

After the money was handed over, the victims were released but the gang reportedly stole the vehicle, along with £735 and mobile phones.

The victims reported the incident to the police and an investigation was launched.

Prosecutor Leandro Ventricelli ordered the raid of ten houses linked with the gang, arresting six men and the pair of sisters.
The suspects have been charged with armed robbery and kidnapping among other unspecified crimes. Reports say both sisters refused to give statements to investigators and the case is ongoing.
