A sea lion has got its first taste of how to use 21st century technology in a hilarious video.
Matthew Feilen, 36, had the encounter with the curious sea lion during a trip to the Brookfield Zoo in Chicago.
As he was being filmed from behind, Matthew got out his phone and caught the attention of the animal.
In the video he faces the phone screen toward the sea lion, who is swimming in a glass enclosure.
The creature is quickly transfixed by what he sees and stares intently at the device.
Matthew said he was showing the sea lion photos he had taken that day, along with pictures of Lake Michigan and his pets.

Two young children excitedly stand next to Matthew as he shows the sea lion the photos.
One of them can be heard exclaiming: ‘That’s so cool!’
The sea lion is engrossed by the photos for about a minute, before finally swimming away in the other direction.
