Prince Harry must have been left “deeply hurt” when members of the Royal Family celebrated his birthday last week – but left Meghan Markle out of the messages, a writer has claimed.
The Duke of Sussex turned 36 years old on Tuesday September 15 – and there was a flurry of well wishes from his older brother, Prince William, and Kate Middleton and other members of the Royal Family.
However, many royalists noted that the photos that Harry’s family chose to celebrate his latest birthday failed to include the Duchess of Sussex.
And according to one royal expert, the apparent snub was made all the worse after the Duchess of Cambridge, was included in one image of Harry with William.
Royal writer Amanda Platell told the Daily Mail that it must have hurt him Harry "deeply" – who moved away from the UK earlier this year and set up home in California, USA, in March.
Amanda wrote: "Despite Palace protocol dictating that spouses are not included in pictures celebrating royal birthdays, it must have hurt Prince Harry deeply to see that the images released by his grandmother, father and brother to celebrate his 36th birthday all excluded his wife Megs.
"To compound things, Kate was in the 2017 picture sent by the Cambridges."

The image shared by the Cambridges on Tuesday showed a jubilant Prince Harry racing his 38-year-old brother, William, while sister-in-law Kate flashed a jubilant smile as she ran alongside the pair.
The shot was taken at a Heads Together relay at London's Olympic Park in February 2017 – and was shared with the caption: “Wishing a very happy birthday to Prince Harry today!”.
Prince Harry’s father, Prince Charles, and his grandmother, The Queen, also shared images without Meghan in them to mark the birthday last week.
Prince Charles shared a snap of himself laughing with his son via his official Clarence House social media feeds.
While The Queen shared a photo of Harry smiling at her via the official Royal Family Instagram page.
Many fans took to social media at the time to question why Meghan – who Harry married in 2018, and welcomed a son, Archie, with in May 2019 – had been apparently snubbed.
One Instagram user commented on William and Kate’s post: “The shade of them using this pic rather than one including his wife.”
But others defended the couple, with one writing: “What is wrong with everyone, upset they didn’t include Meghan in the picture. It’s Harry’s birthday. They posted a picture of Meghan alone on her birthday and no one asked where’s Harry!”
