According to sources that are connected to the Homeowners Association (HOA) at Hope Ranch, several members of the exclusive community are worried about the baggage the famous couple will bring should they make the move.

While its understood that there is no personal dislike towards the Sussexes, their presence will bring a circus to their closed-off community and will also contribute to logistical issues that they'll have to deal with, such as traffic.

Traffic has been an consistent issue in the city of Santa Barbara with the community working hard to reduce the number of cars in the community.

However, with the potential arrival of Harry and Meghan, it is feared their presence will lead to an incredible amount of press in the area which some members of the community believe could create an unsafe environment for kids playing and making their way to school.

While there is a lot of hubbub about their proposed move to Santa Barbara, several of the Sussexes' Montecito neighbours said their neighbourhood hasn't transformed into a paparazzi hub since they've lived there.

One other reason why they may be looking to move is due to the saltwater marsh that their current mansion in built on which has contributed to a putrid smell.

One local Montecito resident said: "It smells like offal that has been rotting in the sun. It makes my stomach churn."
