Gunman shoots man multiple times in Dagenham leaving him with life-changing injuries

A MAN was shot repeatedly in a brutal broad daylight attack in East London today.

Armed cops raced to Hawkwell House in Gosfield Road, Dagenham, shortly after 1:30pm after reports of shots being fired.

But the man in his 20s, presented himself to an east London hospital with gunshot wounds.

It is not believed his condition is life-threatening.

A pal who attended the hospital with the victim was subsequently nicked on suspicion of “cultivation of cannabis.”

It comes as 27 people have been murdered in the capital since the start of the year.

A Met spokesman said: “Police were called at 13:31hrs on Thursday, 21 March to reports of shots fired in Gosfield Road, Dagenham.

“Officers, including armed officers, attended.

“Shortly after, at 13:33hrs, the police were called to reports of a man of a man who self-presented at an east London hospital with gunshot injuries.

“The victim, aged in his 20s, is being treated for possible life-changing injuries. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

“A 29-year-old man, who attended the hospital with the victim, has been arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis.

“He has been taken to an east London police station. A crime scene is in place. Enquiries continue.
