A police officer dubbed "Barbiecop" claims she has been treated unfairly after she was fired for posting raunchy photos of herself at the gym while she was meant to be off sick.
Andressa Christine Medeiros dos Santos, 33, was caught working out and attending social events while on sick leave after she was shot in her left foot.
The corporal was let go from the Brazilian Military Police's Pacification Police's Office (CPP) for "serious disciplinary transgression" on March 12.
But her lawyer claims she is a victim of persecution and said he is planning to file an appeal next week. Andressa has been in the force since 2010.
Officials said the curvy cop was shot in her foot in July 2018 and was removed "from work duties to recover from the injury".
However, just over a month after suffering the injury, she "posted a video on her social page performing physical exercises at the gym" on August 30.
The police said she was then seen "dancing and wearing high heels" at two events in December that year.
The authorities emphasised that the officer "was on leave for health treatment at the Corporation's orthopaedics clinic".
She returned to work in January 2019 on restricted duties that prevented her from being on her feet for long periods of time, but she was again snapped "dancing in high-heeled shoes" at two events that month.
The authorities added that she was dismissed for displaying conduct unbecoming of a Military Police officer and for "being on medical leave for repeated periods while maintaining a routine of social and physical activity inconsistent with her reported health status".

The report also pointed out that she was first declared "unfit for Military Police service" in May 2016 for an unspecified "incurable disease" before being considered "category-A fit" just a month later.
Andressa’s lawyer Fabio Tobias de Araujo has called for her to be reinstated in the Military Police.
The lawyer said she has been targeted by the corporation since 2019 when she took part in an internal investigation for possible embezzlement in the Military Police.

He said: “Andressa was the target of persecution, with flaws in the procedure. She didn't stay out of work for a long time, as they would have you believe.
"When she wasn't on the streets, she was working internally in what is called category B, and all her activities, whether those of a professional or personal nature, such as training, had medical approval.”
"I've been in contact with her and she is sad. First, she was the victim of persecution, and then because she lost her only source of income that she used to support her son.”
