Girl, 16, suffers 'life-changing' injuries after being hit by 'drink-driver' in hit-and-run

A 16-YEAR-OLD girl suffered potentially life-changing injuries after being mowed down by an alleged drunk driver in a hit-and-run.

She was found injured in the road after being struck by a 4×4 in Reigate, Surrey on Friday night.

Police believe the dark car failed to stop at the scene after the girl was hit around 8pm.

She was treated at the scene after being found in Reigate Road at the junction with Chart Lane.

The youngster was rushed to hospital after the horror smash.

Surrey Police said the girl remains in a serious condition, with two people arrested.

A 60-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to stop and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

A 64-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of failure to stop and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Police urged anyone with information to contact them.
