Shocking moment 13-year-old schoolgirl is ‘punched and kicked’ by furious woman who ‘told her to turn her music down’ on a bus
- The incident happened on a bus in Northolt, west London, earlier this month
- Police say they are looking to find the woman who was involved in the assault
This is the moment a grown woman allegedly ‘punched and kicked’ a 13-year-old schoolgirl on a bus in a row over music being played on her phone.
The footage, which came to light on Tuesday, shows the pair arguing before the adult lunges at the teen, appearing to slam her head against the window in the process.
It is claimed it happened after the woman demanded the teen turn down the music being played on her phone while she was travelling home from school in Ealing, west London.
The incident, which was reported to the police on February 3, took place in front of shocked passengers on the X140 bus in Church Road, Northolt, who can be heard gasping when the woman confronts the girl.
The Metropolitan Police says it is investigating what happened and is looking for the woman, who is thought to be in her 20s or 30s.
The footage begins with a woman (right) shouting at a teenage girl (left) after a row over the 13-year-old playing music on her phone
The woman can be seen lunging at the girl and appears to slam her head against the window of the bus while shouting ‘Turn that s**t off!’
Footage of the incident captured by a passenger on the bus shows the adult asking the girl: ‘Do you not hear what I’m saying?’.
The girl responds ‘yeah’, before the woman shouts: ‘I’ll pull your f*****g hair out do you understand?’, slamming her head against the window as she does so.
The person behind the camera can be heard gasping in shock, while the woman, who has the girl in her grasp shouts: ‘Do you understand? Turn that s**t off!’
A spokesperson for the Met said the victim had turned her music down, but had not turned it off completely before the incident.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: ‘At 4.24pm on February 3 police received a report of an assault against a school girl on a Route X140 Bus at Church Road, Northolt.
‘The victim, a 13-year-old girl, was travelling home from school on the bus when the suspect, a woman aged 20-30 years, approached her and told her to turn her music down.
‘The victim complied with the request turning the volume down, but not turning it completely off. The suspect then assaulted the child, at which point the driver of the bus came upstairs and ordered the victim to leave the bus.
‘Enquiries are underway to identify the suspect. Anyone who witnessed this incident, has footage, or can identify the suspect should call 101 or Tweet @MetCC quoting 5183/3FEB.’
Transport for London (TfL), which runs London’s bus routes, has been contacted for comment.
