Girl, 13, launches high court battle to stop transgender pupils sharing dorms and toilets as part of schools guidance

A 13-YEAR-OLD schoolgirl has launched a legal battle for a council to scrap guidance to students questioning their gender identity, it is reported.

The secondary school pupil is demanding Oxfordshire County Council’s overturn its ‘Trans Inclusion Toolkit’.

She said the 65-page guide is compromising her safety, privacy and dignity.

The guide says transgender pupils should be allowed to use whatever school toilets and changing rooms they prefer.

Trans pupils on school trips should also be able to use whichever dormitory they prefer.

The girl's lawyer filed a request for a judicial review against the council at the High Court in London, the Daily Mail reports.

They claim the toolkit puts her at risk.

The girl said she felt ‘sad, powerless and confused’.

She added: "I don’t understand how allowing boys and girls to share private spaces is okay."

The council ‘utterly refutes’ claims it is jeopardising children's safety.
