A Georgia babysitter was charged in the murder of a 2-year-old girl she was caring for last Wednesday, police said

The Sandy Springs Police Department did not reveal how the little girl died, but said an autopsy revealed her death was the result of severe injuries she sustained while being watched by 29-year-old Kirstie Flood.

Family members of the victim who spoke to WSB-TV identified her as Fallon Fridley.

“She was just the light of my life, the love of my life,” the girl’s mother, Kristin Fridley told the outlet. “This girl was gonna be the next president. She was gonna be a doctor.”

Flood, who the mother said was a close friend and full-time babysitter since August, called her crying, claiming Fallon injured herself on a playground slide.

A search warrant obtained by the outlet revealed the babysitter had used her phone to search “what type of people enjoy abusing other people’s children.”

Flood also looked up: “what does it mean to have a sudden urge to beat a child that’s not yours,” according to the warrant.

The victim’s parents said they had no idea Flood posed a threat.

“It’s like this evil was in front of my face for years and I never saw it,” the mother said.

Flood was charged with felony murder, malice murder, aggravated battery and cruelty to children, according to police.
