Fussy dog refuses to eat food unless it’s heated after seeing owner do the same

A picky dog has picked up his owner's habit by refusing to eat his food until it is warmed up in a microwave.

Owner Feixian, of Yantai city in eastern China's Shandong province, said her Labrador pet Duoduo is treating her better than any boyfriends and the pair become inseparable whenever she is at home.

Duoduo became an internet sensation after a viral video captured him tucking his 22-year-old owner into the bed.

The pooch was filmed pulling a blanket across the bed to cover Feixian while she was sleeping.

But the caring canine is also full of character – which includes being rather fussy.

In one clip, Feixian is heating up her dumpling soup in a microwave.

She tells her pooch: "Duoduo, my food is ready. I'm going to eat it while it's hot.

"You should start eating yours as well!"

Duoduo seems to get jealous of his owner's dish and raises his paw to ask Feixian to warm up his dry food as well.

But she tells him: "Yours doesn't have to be heated up."

The pooch refuses to eat and barks at her while impatiently waiting.

She places the dog food in the microwave and closes the door, mimicking the sound of the machine and says "Ding" before taking the food out to Duoduo.

The pooch wags his tail and happily chomps on his food, thinking it's been warmed up.

Feixian told Daily Star that Duoduo actually enjoys the sound of the microwave more than warm food.

She said: "He loves the sound of the 'ding' and gets excited whenever he sees me warming up food in the microwave.

"Duoduo looks angry in the video but he is very loyal and protective in general. He will bring me food and shut the door for me, and even tuck me to sleep."

She explained that she had installed CCTV cameras around the house to capture her dog's moves when she is not at home.

"Everyone says Duoduo is the reincarnation of Xiaotian quan (a mythical dog that protects his owner by the side)," she added.
