A FRANTIC search has been launched for a mum who vanished with her three young children on Christmas Eve.

Iona Whyte, 38, was last seen in the early hours of yesterday leaving an address in Angus, Scotland.

She has now been reported missing alongside her three children – one-year-old Mary and James and Errol, four.

Police have now launched an urgent hunt to find the mum.

Inspector David Gibson said: "We are becoming increasingly concerned for Iona and her children's welfare and are keen to trace them as soon as possible.

"If you have any information about their whereabouts, please contact Police as soon as possible on 101 quoting incident 0351 of 24th December.

"If Iona is reading this media appeal she is requested to make contact with her family or police and let them know they are safe and well".

Iona is described as slim build, 5ft 7ins with shoulder length brown hair. 

Police do not know at this time what clothing the kids were wearing.
