Four teens arrested in connection with fatal shooting of 17-year-old in Wheat Ridge
Wheat Ridge police and other agencies’ SWAT units arrested four teens Wednesday in connection to a shooting that killed a 17-year-old nearly five months ago in Wheat Ridge.
Nimijah Pimentel was fatally shot April 13 at Panorama Park in Wheat Ridge, police said, and a 16-year-old boy was arrested April 17.
Two of the four arrested Wednesday are a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl, Wheat Ridge police said in a news release. The other two arrested are 19-year-old Estaban Lucero and 18-year-old Sincere Trujillo.
Lucero, Trujillo and the unnamed teen boy are facing charges of first-degree murder, first-degree criminal attempt to commit murder and three counts of aggravated robbery, according to Wheat Ridge police. The teen girl is facing first-degree murder and aggravated robbery charges.
Police thought the shooting started with a confrontation that involved selling a pair of designer jeans, but they later discovered the meeting was for “the purposes of an unlawful transaction,” according to the release. The agency did not identify what the transaction was.
