Footballers from Ronaldo to Rooney with their cars… including a Ford Ka

Footballers are among the best-paid athletes in the world – so it's little surprise they drive some of the most extravagant cars on the planet.

Iconic Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo and Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are among the beautiful game's biggest petrol heads.

Ronaldo, 35, is the proud owner of a Bugatti Chiron, that he unveiled on Instagram by driving it out of his plush Madrid mansion while he was playing for Real Madrid.

He wrote on Instagram: "New animal in the building Bugatti Chiron."

But more recently, he was spotted driving a McLaren F1 before parking it in his fleet of mega motors.

In the backdrop, a white Rolls Royce was pictured as the car made its way into the garage.

And he's also got the keys to a Mercedes 4×4, which he posed next to wearing trainers and sunglasses.

It's little surprise he has such an appetite for cars when he is reported to earn a staggering figure of around £500,000 per week at Juventus, where he moved to in the summer of 2018.

Aubameyang meanwhile has a ferocious appetite for Ferraris.

In a recent snap, he sat on the bonnet of a red Ferrari in his drive as he proudly flaunted his new motor.

And it's not his first, with his Instagram account scattered with photos of him with some of the world's most expensive motors.

Recently, he perched himself on top of a white Bentley, fit with designer white clothes to match.

And as if that wasn't enough, he also posed on top of a silver Lamborghini.

However, not all footballers have flash motors.

England legend Wayne Rooney was famously pictured next to a Ford Ka shortly after making his debut for Everton.

He had burst onto the scene as a 16-year-old, so at the point wasn't even able to drive.

But he made up for it later by splashing out on a range of supercars, including a silver Aston Martin.

Former England team-mate David James was also fond of modesty on the road, once being seen posing next to a Reliant Robin.

A stark contrast to Mario Balotelli, the manic ex-Manchester City striker who used to turn up to training in a camouflage Bentley.
