President Donald Trump Tweetstorm – The Sunday Edition

A weekend filled with tragedy was the focus of President Donald Trump’s early Twitter messages today. The President gave his condolences to the people of El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio regarding the mass shootings in their cities, attacks that left multiple people dead and many injured.

The President promised updates throughout the day on Sunday as FBI and other law enforcement developed more details on the incidents. We’ll update as more rolls in.

    The tweetstorm so far:

Dayton, Ohio Mass Shooting Leaves At Least Nine Dead, 27 Injured – Suspect Killed By Police

Nine people were killed early Sunday morning when a heavily armed suspect wearing body armor opened fire outside a bar in Dayton, Ohio. It was the nation’s  second mass shooting in less than 24 hours, following an incident in El Paso, Texas that left at least 20 dead.

Police arrived quickly to the scene and ended the carnage by killing the assailant. The Dayton Police Department said on Twitter that the shooting happened at 1 AM in the city’s Oregon District near downtown. Nearby officers heard the shots and responded within a minute.

Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley said at a Sunday morning news conference the shooter was wearing body armor and had extra magazines. The popular Oregon District had thousands of people in the area at that time of the shooting, accounting for the police presence.

“If Dayton police had not gotten to the shooter in under a minute — and figure that 26 injured, 9 dead — hundreds of people in the Oregon District could be dead today,” Whaley said.

Whaley said later that at least 27 people were injured for injuries that local hospitals said included gunshot wounds and lacerations. Several people remain in serious or critical condition.

The shooter, who has not been identified, was carrying a .223-caliber rifle and had additional high-capacity magazines with him, Whaley said. No motive has been established yet.

Dear John helps taxpayer get tax return he claims he never got

Dear John: I opted to take $500 from my tax return, and in return H&R Block would send the money to Amazon and I would be credited $525.

Although I received my tax return in April, I never got the $525 Amazon credit.

I sent seven e-mails and a certified letter to H&R Block. As of now, I still have no credit.

John, any help you could provide is most appreciated. Thanks in advance. R.P.

Dear R.P.: The most intriguing part of your letter is the fact that it is written on stationery that says “State Correctional Institution at Dallas.” And then you wrote in “retiree.”

So did you used to work there, even though your address is in Pennsylvania? Or is “retiree” another way of saying you got out of jail?

    Interesting!

Oh yeah, I forgot about your problem: your credit.

I called H&R Block and the company got right on it. You now have your $525 credit.

I hope you won’t have to spend it at the prison commissary.
